The Polish Society of Cosmetic Chemists (PSCC) was formed in 1997 on
the initiative of scientific workers group busy at cosmetic chemistry
and persons directly connected with production and distribution of
cosmetics and raw materials.
From 1998 the Society is a member of the International Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Chemists (IFSCC).
The main purpose of PSCC activity is propagation of knowledge and
supporting of the scientific research in the scope of cosmetic
chemistry and related sciences. The particular stress is laid on
education of the young and improvement in professional qualification of
cosmetic industry workers. These objects have been secured by
organisation of educational and scientific conferences, publishing and
co-operation with academies educating cosmetic chemists.
In the course of four years of existence, the Society
organised nine symposiums and one international scientific seminar, as
well as co-operated in organisation of the International Scientific
Conference accompanying to the Cosmetic and Household Ingredients CE
Europe exhibition (Warsaw 1999, Warsaw 2000, Prague 2001).
Since the end of 1998 the Society has been editing the
Journal of the Polish Society of Cosmetic Chemists publishing thematic
review articles in the scope of cosmetic chemistry, estimation methods
of cosmetic products, marketing of cosmetics, etc.
